SKELL creates music to honor Skell, the spirit of the world above. Skell defeated Llao, the spirit of the world below, in an epic battle according to Klamath Native mythology. Crater Lake and Wizard Island were formed as a result of their conflict and the after effects of this monumental event can still be felt in the energy surrounding the area of Mt. Shasta and Mt. Mazama. Ponder the great battle that formed these wonders of nature as you hear the music of SKELL, honoring the histories of the Klamath people of the Pacific Northwest. Employing an experimental, avant-garde approach to metal music, SKELL creates rich sonic textures that allow the listener to simultaneously release primal rage and move forward into meditations upon the numinous.
